Lawyer: Second AntiFake journalist detained in Yerevan

Armenian lawyer Ruben Melikyan says a second reporter from the opposition media outlet AntiFake has been detained in Yerevan.

Melikyan reported receiving a brief phone call from journalist Ishkhan Khosrovyan, who said he was being held at Yerevan’s city police department and would soon be transferred to the Investigative Committee.

Earlier, Melikyan said colleagues had been unable to reach Khosrovyan since Friday morning and suggested his detention was part of a clampdown aimed at halting the outlet’s work.

The Investigative Committee has told Panorama.am it currently has no information regarding Khosrovyan’s arrest.

AntiFake reporter David Fidanyan was arrested earlier on Thursday after law-enforcement officers searched its headquarters and seized the equipment.
