Armenian opposition MP visits detained journalist

Armenian opposition MP Tigran Abrahamyan has visited AntiFake journalist David Fidanyan at his detention facility.

In a social media post on Frday, Abrahamyan, secretary of the Pativ Unem faction, linked Fidanyan’s arrest to the politically motivated prosecution of opposition podcast co-hosts Narek Samsonyan and Vazgen Saghatelyan.

“The goal is to sideline opposition platforms and restrict their involvement in political processes,” he wrote, adding the arrest of another AntiFake journalist, Ishkhan Khosrovyan, earlier on Friday represented the “next episode” in the series of actions.

“Freedom to all political prisoners in Armenia,” the MP concluded.
