Opposition confident of victory in Vagharshapat if turnout is high, candidate says

Mayoral candidate Khachik Manukyan believes the opposition forces can prevail in the Vagharshapat municipal elections if voter turnout is strong.

Manukyan, who tops the Homeland Party's electoral list in Sunday's elections, said the atmosphere on the campaign trail suggested that many residents were ready for change.

“People have managed to shake off their apathy and understand that the nation and the country are at stake. In that sense, the victory is already there,” he told reporters. “I believe that if turnout is high, the opposition will win the elections.”

The candidate also said he was open to cooperation with other opposition groups after the vote, arguing that unity would be essential for translating electoral gains into effective governance.

In case of winning the vote, Manukyan said that his first priority would be improving the city’s “moral and psychological climate”.
