Norayr Hakobyan elected new mayor of Armenia's Masis

Norayr Hakobyan was elected mayor of Masis at a special session of the City Council on Monday, winning 15 votes in favor with none against or abstaining. Council members applauded the result.

Hakobyan previously served as first deputy mayor and became acting community head following the detention of Mayor Davit Hambardzumyan. In his remarks, Hakobyan thanked the Hambardzumyan Alliance for reaffirming its unity and commitment to the development of the community.

He also expressed gratitude to independent councilor Aram Gasparyan for his responsible approach to council duties. Hakobyan added that local residents should feel confident that the governing team remains committed to serving the community fairly.
