Drunk driver crashes Porsche into police car in Yerevan, injuring officer

A 22-year-old driver, identified as Hakob T., crashed his Porsche into a parked patrol police car in central Yerevan early on Monday while under the influence of alcohol.

The collision occurred at around 1:20 a.m. local time on Brazil Square. The police officer in the vehicle was injured and taken to a hospital after receiving first aid at the scene, Shamshyan.com reported.

The driver of the Porsche was subjected to a sobriety test, which confirmed he was intoxicated. Authorities also noted the tires on his car were badly worn.

A criminal case has been launched by the Investigative Committee and both vehicles have been impounded as the investigation continues.
