Narek Karapetyan: Armenian prisoners in Baku could be freed only under strong leadership

Narek Karapetyan, the founder of the Mer Dzevov (In Our Way) movement, claims that the fate of Armenian prisoners held in Baku hinges on strong leadership in Yerevan.

“The issue of all Armenian prisoners in Baku will only be resolved when Armenia is led by a strong negotiator,” he wrote on Facebook on Thursday.

Karapetyan stated that the country’s current leadership had allowed Azerbaijan to set the terms on the prisoner issue, as well as on other key matters. He expressed hope that strong leadership would quickly change the situation.
