Yerevan Conservatory lecturers win prize at international competition in Budapest

Two associate professors from the Komitas State Conservatory of Yerevan have taken second prize in the Duo category at the prestigious Danubia Talents International Competition held in Budapest.

Pianists Lilit Mkrtchyan and Nune Asatryan, both laureates of international competitions and members of the Conservatory’s Department of Professional Piano, performed Felix Mendelssohn’s Andante and Variations, Op. 83a, and Sergei Rachmaninoff’s Six Pieces, Op. 11.

The duo’s latest accolade follows a series of recent successes, including recognition at the 10th Tengiz Amirejibi International Piano Competition in Borjomi in 2024 and a prize-winning performance at a competition in Estonia in 2020.
