Armenian players win Kazakhstan Chess Cup 2025

GM Aram Hakobyan and WIM Mariam Mkrtchyan emerged as winners of the Kazakhstan Chess Cup 2025 round-robin tournament, which concluded in Almaty, Kazakhstan, on Friday.

In the Open section, Aram scored 7.5 points out of 11 and became the sole winner of the tournament, the Armenian Chess Federation reported.

In the Women section, Mariam also scored 7.5 points, sharing 1st–3rd places, and took 1st on tie-breaks.
