Two teens hospitalized after school fight in Armenia's Kotayk; director clarifies students involved
A dispute between students from Arzni Secondary School escalated into a physical altercation at Byureghavan High School named after Samvel Vardanyan in Armenia's Kotayk Province on Tuesday, leaving two 14-year-olds hospitalized, police said.
The incident occurred in the evening over a disagreement about hanging curtains in a classroom, according to Kotayk regional police. Both teenagers sought medical care with injuries following the fight. Police have compiled case materials and forwarded them to the Investigative Committee’s Abovyan division.
Byureghavan High School director Armen Avagyan said the altercation did not involve students enrolled at his school. He told Panorama.am that Arzni Secondary School students are currently attending classes at the Byureghavan campus during renovations at their own school, stressing the dispute was between those students.
Avagyan added that no other incidents involving the Arzni students had been reported since they began studying at the Byureghavan school on September 1 and said he had no further details about the case.
Attempts to reach Arzni Secondary School for comment were unsuccessful.
