Envoy: UK working with Armenian government to help prepare for key moments next year

UK Ambassador to Armenia Alexandra Cole has issued a New Year message to Armenians. Below is her full message shared by the British Embassy in Yerevan on Saturday.

“At this time of year, we usually take a moment to reflect on what we have achieved and what we’d like to continue together in the year ahead.

This year, the United Kingdom and Armenia took an important step by agreeing to raise our relationship to the level of a strategic partnership. We also opened the UK Defense Section in Yerevan and welcomed ministerial visits, helping us deepen our cooperation.

We continue to support Armenia’s security, economic development and capacity building, including through education, business, cyber security and human rights.

The UK is working with the Government of Armenia to help prepare for key moments next year, including the European Political Community meeting, elections and COP17. It will be a very busy year and we’re ready to work with Armenia in support of peace, stability and prosperity.
