House fire leaves one injured in Armenian village

One person has been injured and hospitalized after a house fire in the village of Gugark in Armenia’s Lori Province, the Rescue Service reports.

The alarm was raised at 11:43 p.m. local time on Sunday, reporting a roof fire at a home on Shinararner Street. Three firefighting crews were dispatched to the scene.

The blaze was contained shortly before 1 a.m. on Monday and fully extinguished at 2:15 a.m. Firefighters said the wooden ceilings of the kitchen and living room (about 18 square meters in total) were destroyed and the roof was damaged by heat.

Firefighters prevented the blaze from spreading to other parts of the house. The cause of the fire was not immediately known.
