Another Homeland Party member arrested

Aram Kocharyan, the opposition Homeland Party’s representative in the town of Vagharshapat, has been arrested, its spokesperson Hripsime Arakelyan revealed.

In a social media post, she said Kocharyan, who is listed second on the party’s proportional ticket for the Vagharshapat city council elections, was taken into custody early on Tuesday. She did not give details on the grounds for his detention.

Homeland Party Secretary Khachik Galstyan had been arrested earlier.

The spokesperson criticized the lack of prospects for justice under the current political climate, accusing Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan’s government of targeting opposition figures.
