Major pile-up on Armenian highway leaves several injured

A major traffic accident has occurred on the Yerevan-Gyumri highway in Armenia, involving 15 vehicles and leaving several people injured.

Armenia’s Interior Ministry said the incident happened between the 51st and 55th kilometer of the road near Talin on Tuesday morning.

Emergency services were alerted at 11:10 a.m. local time and a rescue crew was dispatched to the scene.

Two people were taken to hospital before the arrival of rescuers, with their condition assessed as stable. Firefighters later freed two more passengers trapped inside Ford vehicles using special equipment and handed them over to medical teams.

Rescue crews also carried out road-clearing operations to restore traffic flow.
