Catholicos Karekin II pays tribute to fallen soldiers on Army Day

Catholicos of All Armenians Karekin II on Wednesday visited the Yerablur Military Pantheon in Yerevan to mark Army Day.

Accompanied by senior clergy, the church leader laid a wreath there and joined in a minute’s silence to honour fallen soldiers. A requiem service was held, with prayers offered for those who died defending the country.

Journalists at the site asked Karekin II about Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan’s anti-church campaign and accusations against the Catholicos himself. He declined to respond to any question.
