Armenia sees rise in murders and attempted murders in 2025

Armenia recorded a sharp increase in murders and attempted murders in 2025, according to official statistics released by the country’s Statistical Committee.

From January to November 2025, 82 murders were registered, up from 63 in 2024 and 55 in 2023. Attempted murders also rose, with 76 cases reported in the same period, compared with 61 in 2024 and 65 in 2023.

Overall, 39,986 crimes were registered in Armenia in the first 11 months of 2025. Of these, 18,495 were classified as minor, 13,922 as medium severity, 5,684 as serious and 1,885 as particularly serious.
