Catholicos Karekin II meets with international lawyer Robert Amsterdam

His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians, on Wednesday met with international lawyer Robert Amsterdam to discuss ongoing legal proceedings involving detained archbishops and prominent philanthropist businessman Samvel Karapetyan, the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin reported.

According to a statement released by the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin, the meeting took place at the church’s spiritual headquarters in Etchmiadzin.

The talks focused on the legal processes concerning the senior clerics currently in detention, as well as proceedings involving Karapetyan, described by the church as a national benefactor.

The two men also addressed broader concerns related to the protection of human rights. They emphasised the imperative of upholding justice and the rule of law.
