Expert says Pashinyan's family drama raises public accountability questions

An Armenian information security expert says Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan’s family matters cannot be treated solely as private issues, stressing that people have the right to raise questions when personal developments intersect with state responsibilities.

In a social media post on Saturday, Shushan Doydoyan said while divorce itself belongs to the realm of personal life, the public has the right to inquire about potential implications for governance.

“Divorce is their personal matter,” Doydoyan wrote. “But people have the right to ask questions about anything that may relate to government functions.”

She highlighted possible areas of concern, including conflicts of interest, discrepancies between declared assets and official statements, and security risks. “These are matters of public concern and people have the right to ask questions and get answers,” she added.
