Armenian MP warns regional reverberations of Iran strikes will persist for decades
Armenian opposition lawmaker Tigran Abrahamyan said on Monday that the consequences of the latest escalation in the Middle East will reverberate across the region, including Armenia, for decades to come.
Abrahamyan, who represents the Pativ Unem faction, made the remarks after U.S. and Israeli forces launched strikes against Iran on Saturday.
“While the regional flare-up in recent days have been interpreted from different perspectives, the primary concern for Armenians remains the fate of Armenian communities in conflict zones, as well as historical, religious, educational and cultural values,” he wrote on Facebook.
Abrahamyan stated that the Middle East has already suffered "heavy losses" from various escalations and wars over the last 10–15 years, with the latest strikes around Iran further exacerbating these "serious concerns".
“The heavy consequences of these developments will be felt for decades in the region, including Armenia,” he said.
