Armenian MP says government bonuses outpaced recovered funds in 2025

An opposition lawmaker said on Thursday that bonuses awarded to the Armenian government officials in 2025 exceeded the amount of funds recovered by the state, questioning the authorities’ repeated pledges to reclaim allegedly embezzled assets.

Speaking at a parliament session, Anna Grigoryan of the opposition Hayastan faction said the government had received more than 3 billion drams in bonuses in 2025, while only 1.6 billion drams had been returned to the state budget from what officials describe as stolen funds.

“They constantly brag about the recovery of stolen funds, yet the government alone received more than 3 billion drams in bonuses. That is twice as much as the so-called reclaimed plunder.”

She added that the figure did not include bonuses paid to members of the parliament and other public institutions.

Her remarks came as Armenian Anti-Corruption Committee Chairman Artur Nahapetyan presented the committee’s 2025 annual activity report to lawmakers.
