Armenia issues arrest warrant for ex-president’s brother Aleksander Sargsyan

Armenian prosecutors said on Tuesday they have ordered the detention of Aleksander Sargsyan, the brother of former President Serzh Sargsyan, and declared him wanted on criminal charges.

The Prosecutor General’s Office said Sargsyan is accused of instigating the misappropriation of entrusted property under Article 46-256 of Armenia’s Criminal Code. A court has imposed pre-trial detention as a measure, and law enforcement has launched a search to locate him.
