21 Armenian citizens to return from Thailand amid flight disruptions

The Armenian Foreign Ministry has announced that 21 citizens stranded in Thailand are expected to return home in the coming days, following cancellations of transit flights caused by instability in the Middle East.

Since the disruptions began, Armenia’s Embassy in China and the Honorary Consulate in Bangkok have maintained contact with 93 Armenian nationals in Thailand. Of those, 42 have already returned.

On March 12, 18 citizens flew from Bangkok to Tbilisi on a Georgian airline charter flight, arranged with the support of the Armenian Embassy in Beijing. They were met at Tbilisi airport by Armenian diplomats, and those wishing to continue to Yerevan were provided free transport.

The Foreign Ministry confirmed that arrangements are underway for the remaining 21 citizens to travel back to Armenia in the coming days.
