Armenia facilitates safe evacuation of over 550 Indians from Iran

India’s foreign minister has expressed gratitude to Armenia for helping evacuate hundreds of Indian citizens from neighbouring Iran, which has been engulfed in conflict.

Subrahmanyam Jaishankar, India’s External Affairs Minister, said more than 550 Indian nationals had been safely evacuated through Armenia. Writing on X on Monday, he praised the Armenian government and its people for their assistance during the “challenging times”.

“Thank the Government and the people of Armenia for facilitating the safe evacuation of over 550 Indian nationals from Iran so far. Appreciate their support in these challenging times,” Jaishankar posted, tagging his Armenian counterpart Ararat Mirzoyan.
