One of two brothers detained over Yerevan church incident released

One of the teenage brothers detained over the recent incident at St. Anna Church in Yerevan has been released, his lawyer said on Tuesday.

Mikayel Minasyan was freed from the Investigative Committee’s Yerevan division but remains under indictment, attorney Varduhi Elbakyan told reporters. A travel ban has been imposed on him.

Elbakyan added that investigative actions are underway in the case of Mikayel’s brother, Davit. Both siblings face charges, though details of the accusations have not been disclosed due to the confidentiality of the preliminary investigation.
