Armenia ranks among the world’s safest countries in terms of terrorist threats, according to the 2026 Global Terrorism Index (GTI).
The report places Armenia at 81st in the global ranking, a slight improvement from its 82nd position in 2025. The index evaluates countries on a scale from 1 to 100, with higher rankings indicating lower levels of terrorist activity and threat.
According to the GTI, Armenia falls into the category of countries with minimal terrorism impact.
The countries most impacted by terrorism include Pakistan, Burkina Faso and Niger, which recorded the highest scores on the index. At the opposite end of the spectrum, Uruguay, Zimbabwe and Vietnam reported the lowest levels of terrorism impact.
The report also highlights rankings for several other countries. Syria ranked sixth, followed by Israel in 10th place and Afghanistan in 11th. India ranked 13th, while Russia and Iran placed 17th and 18th, respectively.
Among Western nations, the United States ranked 28th, followed by Germany in 29th and France in 35th. Turkey ranked 36th, while China placed 54th.
Other countries in the region include Switzerland at 67th, the United Arab Emirates at 68th, Georgia at 77th and Azerbaijan at 93rd.
