Pashinyan says no new statements in talks with Putin

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said Thursday that his recent encounter with Russian President Vladimir Putin was a routine working lunch that yielded no new developments.

“There was no clandestine meeting. We had lunch and spoke in a friendly manner,” Pashinyan told reporters, emphasizing that his remarks in Moscow merely echoed prior public statements. He described the visit as “very successful” and confirmed that another high‑level meeting is planned for late June.

Pashinyan said Armenia‑Russia relations are undergoing a “constructive transformation,” which he views positively. “We will continue to adhere to the principle of friendly dialogue,” he noted.

On Armenia’s role in the Eurasian Economic Union, Pashinyan said Yerevan will pursue parallel engagement with both the EU and the EAEU as long as policies remain compatible. “When incompatibility arises, we will make decisions together with our people,” he added.
