Armenia’s Anti-Corruption Committee says the vice-rector of the Armenian State Pedagogical University and several staff members have been arrested on suspicion of abuse of office, fraud, complicity and forgery of official documents.
ArmLur.am identified the vice-rector as Mariam Ispiryan, who was arrested together with his son. Both are reportedly implicated in an alleged forgery case tied to the university.
The media outlet also reported the arrest of Smbat Lputian, first deputy chairman of the Armenian Chess Federation and founder of the Chess Academy of Armenia. His detention is believed to be linked to the broader investigation into the Pedagogical University.
