Strong Armenia bloc enters election race, affirms compliance with law

The Strong Armenia alliance on Wednesday formally submitted its candidate list to the Central Electoral Commission, marking the official launch of its campaign for Armenia’s upcoming parliamentary elections.

Alliance member Aram Vardevanyan said the bloc had “zero legal concerns” regarding registration, stressing that no legislative mechanism exists to obstruct their participation. He noted that all documents were meticulously reviewed with coalition partners prior to submission.

Vardevanyan underscored that the alliance operates strictly within the bounds of Armenian law. Addressing reports of surveillance targeting opposition figures, he criticized the disproportionate monitoring of rival parties, calling it “a sign of weakness.”

The candidate roster includes Narek Karapetyan, Aram Vardevanyan, Gohar Meloyan, Davit Ghazinyan, Ruben Mkhitaryan, Mamikon Aslanyan, Avetis Arakelyan, Marianna Ghahramanyan, Hayk Sukiasyan, Argishti Darbinyan, Irina Yolyan, Edgar Ghazaryan, Tigran Abrahamyan and more than 150 others.

The submission of the list signals the alliance’s readiness to contest what Vardevanyan described as “crucial elections” for Armenia.
