Pashinyan hails consecration of restored church near border as 'symbolic'

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has touted the consecration of the newly restored Holy Trinity Church in the village of Kirants, located near the demarcated border between Armenia and Azerbaijan.

Pashinyan and other government officials attended the consecration ceremony on Saturday.

“This is a highly symbolic and important step,” he said in a Facebook live video after the ceremony.

“From now on, services will be held there in accordance with church tradition,” Pashinyan added.
