Arman Tatoyan accuses authorities of spreading pre-election fears

Former Ombudsman Arman Tatoyan, the prime ministerial candidate of the Wings of Unity party, says the authorities are spreading two types of fears ahead of elections.

In a video posted on social media on Tuesday, he claimed that the first tactic is aimed at discouraging voter turnout. He stated that various forms of pressure are being used, including intimidation, threats of dismissal from employment and attempts to influence individuals through their family members.

He also suggested that small business owners are being subjected to increased scrutiny, including inspections and financial penalties, which he characterised as a means of coercion.

According to Tatoyan, a second, broader narrative is being promoted among the public that the country could face renewed war if Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan is not re-elected.
