Bright Armenia Party launches election campaign in border village

The Bright Armenia Party opened its parliamentary election campaign in the border village of Yeraskh on Friday, underscoring the erosion of national sovereignty under Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan’s government. The country is scheduled to hold parliamentary elections on June 7.

Party officials said the choice of Yeraskh was deliberate, portraying the border settlement as a symbol of resistance and sovereignty. They criticized the government’s handling of the stalled construction of a local metallurgical plant, which they argued had been derailed by external pressure from Azerbaijan.

“Yeraskh is Armenia’s border, resistance, sovereignty and right to live,” the party said, adding that sovereignty is measured not by rhetoric but by a state’s ability to make decisions within its own territory free of foreign dictates.
