Strong Armenia party calls for joint efforts to change country's 'miserable situation'
Opposition politician Narek Karapetyan, who tops the Strong Armenia party’s electoral list, has urged residents of Yeghegnadzor to unite in tackling poverty and economic hardship as the country prepares for parliamentary elections on June 7.
“Yeghegnadzor is facing high unemployment. Yeghegnadzor and the surrounding villages are the poorest in Armenia,” Karapetyan told local residents during a campaign stop on Tuesday. He said poverty in Vayots Dzor Province is deepening and requires leadership capable of delivering a better life.
“We should all work together to change Armenia’s miserable situation, so we can have a country with a strong leader and a nation that lives well,” he added.
