Armenia's Simon fails to reach Eurovision final

The second semi-final of the Eurovision Song Contest 2026 took place in Vienna on Thursday night, with Armenia’s representative Simon missing out on a place in Saturday’s grand final.

Performing his song “Paloma Rumba”, Simon failed to secure enough votes to progress from the semi-final stage.

Armenia was among five countries eliminated during the second semi-final, alongside Luxembourg, Switzerland, Latvia and Azerbaijan.

The countries that qualified for the final from the second semi-final were Bulgaria, Ukraine, Norway, Australia, Romania, Malta, Cyprus, Albania, Denmark and the Czech Republic.

The Eurovision 2026 grand final will be held on 16 May. Among the countries set to compete are Greece, Finland, Belgium, Sweden, Moldova, Israel, Serbia, Croatia, Lithuania, Poland, Germany and Italy.
