Opposition MP accuses Pashinyan of betrayal over Artsakh stance

Armenian opposition lawmaker Tigran Abrahamyan has accused Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan of betraying national interests and misleading the public over Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh), highlighting sharp contradictions in the premier’s statements.

Writing on social media, Tigran Abrahamyan, a member of the Pativ Unem faction, stated that Pashinyan’s political style was defined by “adventurism, betrayal, serving others’ interests and lying.”

Abrahamyan recalled Pashinyan’s 2019 rally in Stepanakert, where the prime minister declared “Artsakh is Armenia, period!”. He contrasted that with Pashinyan’s later recognition of Artsakh as part of Azerbaijan, saying the shift undermined the sacrifices made by Armenians.

“Why was Nikol speaking about Artsakh’s right to self-determination in his 2018 and 2021 election programs?” Abrahamyan asked, warning that Pashinyan’s re-election would bring “new trials” for the Armenian people.
