Opposition MP says Pashinyan continues to target RPA ahead of elections
Armenian opposition MP Tigran Abrahamyan stated that Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and his ruling Civil Contract party continue to target the former ruling Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) and former President Serzh Sargsyan ahead of the June 7 parliamentary elections.
“The entire election campaign has been marred by threats from the capitulant aimed at the RPA and Serzh Sargsyan,” Abrahamyan, a member of the Pativ Unem faction, wrote on Facebook on Monday.
“Although the RPA hasn’t joined the election race, it remains a major concern for Civil Contract,” he said.
Abrahamyan stated the government had failed in its attempts to push the Republican Party out of active politics and weaken its political influence.
“No matter how much noise they make and how fiercely they attack, the RPA has always been and will remain at the forefront of Armenia’s political struggle,” the MP added.
