Armenian Cyber Police warn iPhone users of ongoing phishing scam

Armenian Cyber Police have issued a renewed warning over an ongoing phishing campaign in which scammers impersonate the Interior Ministry and other government agencies to target mobile phone users.

Authorities said the fraudulent messages are being sent from foreign phone numbers and contain phishing links aimed at stealing personal and banking information. The latest wave of attacks is primarily targeting iPhone users through Apple’s iMessage service.

In a statement released on Saturday, the Cyber Police urged the public not to respond to suspicious messages, click on embedded links or share any personal, financial or verification details.

Officials also advised users to immediately block the numbers or accounts sending such messages and report them as spam or junk.
