Armenian FM declines to reveal agenda of Rubio's visit

Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan has confirmed that U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio will arrive in Yerevan for high-level talks on Tuesday.

Speaking to reporters in Gyumri, Mirzoyan declined to reveal details of the agenda, saying only: “We will announce [the details] once he visits Armenia.” When asked whether the visit was intended to support Armenia’s government ahead of the June 7 parliamentary elections, Mirzoyan responded sharply: “Are you very afraid of that?”

According to Armenian Foreign Ministry, Rubio will meet Mirzoyan in Yerevan. The two ministers are expected to make public statements following their talks and sign bilateral documents.
