Armenian government allocates 7.12 billion drams for road overhaul

Armenia’s government has approved a 7.12 billion dram ($18.5 million) budgetary reallocation to finance the reconstruction of 26.2 kilometers of roadway.

Speaking at a cabinet meeting on Thursday, Deputy Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure Armen Simonyan said the plan covers 4.4 km of interstate highways, 0.2 km of national roads, and 21.6 km of regional routes. Funds will also support technical and design oversight, as well as preparation and review of project documentation.

The measure amends the 2026 state budget law and a December 2025 cabinet decision, authorizing changes to procurement contracts and their termination where necessary.
