Investigators seek arrest of six Strong Armenia candidates

Armenian investigators have ordered the arrest of six parliamentary candidates from the Strong Armenia party as part of a criminal investigation into alleged vote-buying and large-scale money laundering ahead of Sunday’s parliamentary elections.

In a statement released on Saturday, the Investigative Committee said arrest orders had been issued for all six suspects and forwarded to police for execution.

Authorities did not immediately disclose additional details about the allegations or the identities of the candidates.

The preliminary investigation is underway.
