Karapetyan votes for 'legitimate government' in Armenia’s elections

Samvel Karapetyan, the prime ministerial candidate of the Strong Armenia alliance, said on Sunday he will vote for the establishment of "legitimate government ” as Armenians head to the polls in parliamentary elections.

Karapetyan told reporters that detentions of his bloc’s members continue but emphasized that his party remains committed to the electoral process.

Addressing allegations of vote-buying, Karapetyan rejected the claims, noting that law enforcement agencies have released recordings but have not detained him again. “If we had distributed bribes, they would have already arrested me,” he said.
