Tatoyan urges voters to seize 'historic' opportunity, reject foreign influence
Opposition leader Arman Tatoyan on Sunday characterized the ongoing elections as a pivotal moment for Armenia’s future, urging citizens to view their vote as a decisive opportunity to shape the country for coming generations.
Speaking to reporters after casting his ballot, Tatoyan, the leader of the Wings of Unity party, described the elections as one of historic significance and warned against allowing a rare chance for change to slip away.
“These elections are truly historic,” Tatoyan said. “Today we are deciding our future and determining what kind of country our children will inherit.”
Tatoyan argued that failing to act when an opportunity for meaningful change presents itself is more damaging than making a mistake while pursuing progress.
“A missed opportunity is worse,” he said. “When you fail to take action and later regret it, that becomes a lost chance. I do not want these elections to become a missed opportunity for us.”
He added that the changes sought through the electoral process would benefit all citizens, particularly younger generations, whose future prospects are closely tied to the country’s political trajectory.
Tatoyan also called on voters to make informed and responsible decisions, emphasizing the importance of evaluating candidates’ ability to govern and manage the state institutions.
“This is a vote for our country’s future and justice,” he said. “We must not allow decisions about our future to be made elsewhere. We must not permit this election to become a referendum on foreign interests or a contest driven by the agendas of others.”
The opposition leader stressed that the responsibility for determining Armenia’s future rests with its citizens.
“The choice must be ours,” Tatoyan said. “It must be made by all our cities and villages.”
