CEC sums up Armenia election results

Armenia’s Central Electoral Commission (CEC) has released preliminary results of Sunday's parliamentary elections.

At a press conference on Monday, CEC Chairman Vahagn Hovakimyan said the figures published on the commission's website do not yet include electronic voting results and remain subject to verification and adjustment.

He added that the commission's system rounds percentage calculations, resulting in minor discrepancies at the thousandth-decimal level.

According to the preliminary results, the ruling Civil Contract party secured 727,827 votes, or 49.825% of ballots cast. The Strong Armenia alliance came second with 340,088 votes, or 23.281%, followed by the Hayastan bloc with 145,113 votes, or 9.934%.

The Prosperous Armenia Party gained 58,378 votes, or 3.996%, narrowly missing the 4% threshold required to enter parliament.

The CEC said 1,477,736 voters cast ballots out of 2,507,216 registered voters, representing turnout of 58.94%.

A total of 16 political parties and two electoral alliances contested the elections.
