Armenian party requests recount of votes at all Yerevan polling stations after parliamentary elections

The Wings of Unity party has formally requested a recount of ballots cast at all polling station in the Armenian capital following Sunday’s parliamentary elections, a party official said.

Writing on social media on Tuesday, Liparit Drmeyan, a representative of the party, said similar requests had also been submitted to several territorial election commissions in Armenia’s regions, where vote recounts are currently underway.

“Regardless of the final outcome, I extend my gratitude and deepest respect to all voters who chose principle and dignity over financial inducements and voted for the Wings of Unity party,” Drmeyan said.

“There is still much work to be done and a long struggle ahead to ensure that Hayk does not fall to Bel,” he added, referring to the figures of Armenian mythology.
