Armenian justice minister says draft constitution will be released after final review

Armenia’s ruling Civil Contract party has reviewed a draft of the country’s new constitution but will delay releasing the text until further consultations are complete, Justice Minister Srbuhi Galyan said on Wednesday.

Galyan told reporters in the parliament that the party’s board discussed the timing of publication during a meeting on Tuesday. She said officials are awaiting feedback from colleagues before finalizing the document.

“We have decided not to publish the text of the constitution for now,” Galyan said. “It will take about one to two weeks to collect and consolidate opinions, followed by additional discussions. Once we are ready, we will make the decision to release it.”
