Driver dies after UAZ plunges into ravine in Armenia's Kotayk

A man was killed on Friday when his UAZ vehicle plunged nearly 30 meters into a ravine in the mountains near Geghashen, a village in Armenia’s Kotayk Province.

The Interior Ministry reported that the crash occurred at 5:16 p.m. as the driver attempted to ascend a mountain road. Rescue teams from the regional fire and rescue unit and the Special Rescue Operations Center were dispatched to the scene.

Emergency crews recovered the driver’s body from the ravine and transferred it to an ambulance, authorities said.
