Pashinyan's spouse to attend global first ladies event in New York

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan’s spouse, Anna Hakobyan, will represent the country as First Lady at the Global First Ladies Academy’s annual gathering in New York, an official government decree reveals.

Hakobyan is scheduled to travel to the United States from June 26 to July 4 to participate in the academy’s fourth annual meeting. The prime minister’s office will cover related expenses, including accommodation and per diem allowances during her stay in New York and a transit stop in Vienna.

Her appearance as First Lady comes months after Hakobyan announced in February that she and Pashinyan had ended their civil marriage. The couple later reappeared together publicly, with Pashinyan telling reporters in April that Hakobyan had given him “a chance” to preserve their family.
