Pashinyan sees new opportunities amid EAEU export ban

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan states that despite restrictions on exporting agricultural products to the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) market, new transport and trade opportunities have emerged that could benefit local businesses.

Speaking at a cabinet meeting on Thursday, Pashinyan argued that geography should not be viewed as a limitation. “We saw that new transport opportunities have opened, which reach from point A to point B more quickly than what we had before,” he said. “Geography is a subtle science, and these different opportunities simply need to be recognized.”

Pashinyan emphasized that Armenian producers can take advantage of existing government support programs, noting that “large opportunities have opened up and we must encourage businesses to use them.” He added that while the government will continue working to resolve issues within the EAEU, businesses should not hesitate to explore alternative markets and routes.
