Former MP Ruben Hakobyan arrested as part of criminal investigation

Former Armenian lawmaker Ruben Hakobyan was arrested on Friday as part of a criminal investigation being conducted by Armenia’s Investigative Committee, the agency confirmed to Panorama.am.

The Investigative Committee did not provide further details.

Hakobyan reported his imminent arrest in a social media post earlier on Friday.

Shortly afterward, her daughter, Ani Hakobyan, posted a video saying officers from the Criminal Police had arrived at the family’s residence in the morning and taken her father to the Yerevan Criminal Police Department.
