FIDE World Youth Chess Championship underway in Italy

The 2026 FIDE World Youth Chess Championship is underway in Montesilvano, Italy.

After 4 rounds, in the U14 category, FM Tyhran Ambartsumian has scored 3.5 points and is tied for 3rd place, the Armenian Chess Federation reported.

In the U18 category, FM Vache Hovakimyan also has 3.5 points and is tied for 4th place.

Among the leaders is also Anahit Mkrtchyan, competing in the G18 category, with 3 points.

Round 5 starts on June 19 at 17:00 Armenian time.
