Strong Armenia calls rally ahead of Constitutional Court hearing

Narek Karapetyan, a senior member of the opposition Strong Armenia party, has announced a rally for Friday as the party considers its response to the disputed parliamentary election results.

The gathering will take place at 1 p.m. at Tashir Arena, bringing together supporters who backed the party in the June 7 elections. Karapetyan explained that participants will help decide whether Strong Armenia should accept its parliament seats or reject them in protest.

“We want to hear directly from the citizens who entrusted us with their votes and collectively determine the most appropriate course of action — whether that means taking up our seats or rejecting them,” Karapetyan said. “We will also outline the next steps in our political struggle.”

Following the meeting, attendees will march to Armenia’s Constitutional Court, where judges are scheduled to hear a challenge to the election results. Karapetyan emphasized that the demonstration is intended to highlight support for voters whose ballots “must be protected.”
