Citizens in Armavir express unease over Pashinyan's government

Residents of Armenia’s Armavir Province voiced sharp concerns about Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan’s leadership during a recent local survey, citing political tension, economic hardship, and distrust in law enforcement.

Several respondents accused the government of cultivating fear through arrests, detentions, and combative rhetoric. One participant said authorities were “keeping the public under pressure,” pointing to intimidation tactics.

Others questioned whether the ruling majority reflects Pashinyan’s earlier promises, raising doubts about the country’s political trajectory and the risk of renewed conflict.

Economic frustrations were also prominent. Citizens noted that pension increases have been outpaced by rising prices, leaving many struggling to make ends meet. “The cost of living has climbed so high that the pension raise barely matters,” one resident said.

Concerns about the justice system added to the unease. Respondents criticized the handling of criminal cases, saying the way they are publicized has deepened feelings of uncertainty and social strain.
